let's see. yesterday there were 3 firetrucks and an ambulance and at least 15 firefighters in front of my house around 2:30pm. there has been a yucky chemically smell in our house the last few days and joe told the landlady next door (she is old and was pals with my grandma), who in turn called 911 and i guess made it sound super serious? there were firemen in full gear, like gas masks and oxygen tanks and axes and pokers and stuff. it was something. i took a couple pictures from my window that i will post when i feel like it. there were some people across the street watching too, two women and a man, and one of the women ran up to the firemen (who were all just standing around as it was a false alarm) and asked to take a picture with them. they all posed and smiled and were very happy to do it, which was cute. then one of the firemen lifted her onto the front of one of the firetrucks and they posed with her there too. ha!
i think i am first place in fantasy hockey? it's a head-to-head league, and i have more points than anyone else at this point in time. and i don't care that it's only day 4 of the season. i rule!
james came over last night and we ordered chinese food and watched the caps season opener. for the most part i thought the caps looked really good and at times i just sat there thinking to myself, "is this the caps? really??" especially the first two periods, they were just so cohesive and really working as a team. and FAST. it was odd to see them making passes that connected and making actual PLAYS XD
i talked to molly for the first time in forever yesterday- since our exam, i think. she is having a birthday celebration at a bar down the street from her place in greenpoint tonight, that has all you can eat BBQ for $5. and she baked strawberry muffins. she asked me to bring friends, and i think andrew is the only person who wanted to go tonight. i want to meet people i don't know. also she went shopping at bed bath and beyond yesterday- not shopping, but making a wedding registry (she and lucky finally set a date- next june 14 i believe!) and she found a soft serve ice cream making with sprinkle dispenser for $100. I WANT IT. i asked her if she would ask for two on her registry and then give one to me and she said yes! hahahaha. she said she had no idea what to put on the registry- they've been living together long enough that they have basically everything they need and don't really have room for anything more...i told her that this was a perfect situation to ask for things like ice cream, corn dog, and waffle makers. i am pretty sure i am right.
